Sachatamia Lodge is a private ecological cloud forest reserve in Mindo, situated next to the protected forest of Mindo-Nambillo.  There are two viewing areas right in front with one overlooking a number of hummingbird feeders and another for viewing tanagers feeding on bananas set out by the staff.  There is also a moth blind for birders interested in seeing the early morning feeding frenzy.

There are a number of rooms in the rustic wood main house and many comfy individual cabins complete with portable heaters and dehumidifiers.

This lodge became our base of operations for visiting the other hummingbird locations in the Mindo area.
